Anybody using the M3 MAN (MES) Module or Infor Production Planer Product?

We are exploring MAN (MES) and/or Infor Production Planner and wonder if there are any companies out there willing to share their experiences.

Hi Jonathan, happy to share our experience with M3. Many users face challenges with planning and scheduling. With TouchPath, you can readily display and manipulate schedules, track jobs scheduled by machine, and effectively record and analyze downtime and waste. And planning is based upon your specific requirements. Please email me @ dwhetstone@touchpath.com.

Hi Jonathan, echoing Jeff's comments, we haven't had too much exposure to the Infor MES or Production Planner, but have seen custom MESs developed using extensibility tools or MES products integrated to M3. We'll be happy to share our experiences and also talk about capacity planning and scheduling. Let me know if you would like to connect and take this offline.

Hi Jeff,

thanks that is good to know. Our main challenges are around Capacity Planning and Scheduling of our Shops Department. Based on discussions held with Infor they recommend to look into following modules/products:

1) MAN (MES) - Module of M3
2) Production Scheduler/Planner - Separate Infor Product
3) MES (Lighthouse) - Separate Infor Product

Appreciate your offer to share your experiences with Infor MES! If anybody out there is using  Read more...Infor's Production Planner that would be helpful as well. We are just getting started and any info helps 😉

Thanks,

Ok. Thanks for clarifying. That's what I wondered, if your question was about MES. The menu "MAN - Manufacturing Execution" is not referencing MES in the traditional sense. It is the core M3 Manufacturing screens (PMS screens). If your question is specific about utilizing Infor MES (which is a separate product and not, to my knowledge, accessible through an M3 menu--it interfaces with M3 via APIs), we have found less than a handful of M3 customers who are using it. There are a  Read more...lot more non-M3 customers using Infor MES, but only a small number of M3 customers using both M3 and Infor MES (at least to our knowledge). We are just beginning our journey exploring Infor MES and we be happy share what we have learned. Show less...

Hi Jeff, in the Infor M3 menu there is a module listed called MAN (MES) ref: attached screenshot. MES stands for Manufacturing Execution System. We haven't used Infor's MES but are curious to hear from other Infor customers. Especially scheduling and capacity planning are the primary features / capabilities we are interested in.
