anyone using Infor OS context widgets

I've been exploring the widget catalog not just for Workspaces, but also for using within programs. I like the option of having context widgets that, say, populate when I click an Item Number or Customer or Supplier, but I can't figure out the best way to manage all these.

While the widgets are dependent on input from M3 programs, their presence isn't. So if I 2-3 customer widgets, 2-3 item widgets, etc., I'm either left with a Widget Panel with a dozen widgets I need to scroll  Read more...through depending on what type of program I'm in OR I'm creating widget folders in a drop down at the top of the panel. This latter option requires the user to bounce around through different widget categories to find what context widgets apply.

Anyone else run into this? Or is there something I don't know? Infor documentation speaks to the individual widgets, but not the Widget Panel itself. Thank you Show less...

I think we've just seen what you've seen. Not sure if the functionality is there but we don't know about it, or if maybe that's on the roadmap. Would definitely be cool to control that I only see widget A when I'm in OIS300, widget B when in OIS302 and OIS101, etc. Best for now is probably to use the widget sets like you mentioned. And if users use a lot of widgets, encourage them to pop out the window to make it bigger and show on a different screen if possible. This is still pretty new, so  Read more...I'd expect lots of updates and new features sooner than later! Show less...
Well, darn. Figured if anyone knew the secret it would be y'all. Guess I'll look into how roles might be used to at least minimize how many sets/categories a user would have to flip through. Then I'll submit an ER...
I LEARNED A THING! "Context messages" allows you to show and hide widgets based on the program you're in. Hit me up!
Elise, how do you do that?
Context messages!
Click the "..." at the top of your widget panel, then "Context messages." Check the box for the widget you want to show/hide. Click Edit in the top right. Click + Add context message. Choose Infor Business Context, and up to you if you change the name. Click OK. Click + Add in the top right. Select Screen ID, change Operator to "Contains." For the value, put some/all of the screen name. Like if you want it to show up in all OIS screens, put  Read more...OIS. If just OIS300, put that. Click OK. If you want it to show up in multiple screens, keep clicking + Add and adding as many conditions as you'd like. It treats them like "ORs." Show less...
Thanks Elise...that works great. I appreciate the help.
Glad to share and help! 😀
