Does anyone use PMS260 "Manufact Order. Report Orderless"?

Categorized as:

I am wondering if anyone uses PMS260 as part of their standard processes? We have a unique scenario that we are trying to figure out a process for and PMS260 was suggested to us as a possible solution... However, there seems to be almost no documentation on it's use. We are trying to use PMS260 to rework and repair systems leased to our customers. Once a system fails the customer sends the system back to us and we reissue a replacement. The returned system will be repaired and put in inventory  Read more...with 0 cost to be reissued as a replacement system. We believe that we could use PMS260 to deplete and expense inventory parts used to rework the system. The rework parts are expense items and do not add any cost value to the original system carried in the fixed asset ledger. Would love to have a conversation if anyone uses or is familiar with the program. Thank you! Show less...

Loring Kaveney, Eric Lopez like this.
there is a flag in MMS003 that turns on the orderless approach for an item. Still requires a PDS001 set up. Another way to do this repair is to use a reverse BOM which allows for teardown and also putting new components on.
