Hello Everyone! Curious if anyone is integrated with Avalara and have had or seen issues with taxes applied to order charges. We're seeing order charges taxed with the master warehouse defined in CRS008 instead of the address defined in OIS102.
Hi Casey, Great question, this typically comes down to how M3 is passing the transaction data to Avalara rather than the tax calculation itself. AvaTax calculates tax based on the address and context it receives, so if order charges are being taxed using the warehouse from CRS008 instead of the address in OIS102, it usually indicates that the charge lines are inheriting a different facility or ship-from context in M3. In some configurations, order charges can default to a Read more...warehouse/facility setup (CRS008), while item lines use the delivery address, so they can behave differently if not aligned. Happy to take a closer look with you, if you can share a sample transaction, we can help validate how the data is being passed and whether this is expected behavior or something that can be adjusted in configuration.
