Thanks, everyone. It turns out that my original problem was that the consultant that installed the two CFT environments did not keep the grid directory at InforIONGrid. They suffixed the environment even though it was already in a separate directory structure. The grid update program expects the grid to be installed with the default directory name, regardless of where it is in the directory structure.
@johnpanzenhagen once installed the maintenance is easy with the exception of when java updates - we have to review all the config files to make sure they point to the correct java folder.
We used to have our TST and TRN CFT grids on one server machine. Agreed with Amy, the folder structure seemed to be the most important piece of the puzzle. Once everything was up and running it all ran very well. Good luck with the install!
@amyrogers do you have to do anything different for maintenance? I had a consultant install the two, and the way that they did it, the upgrade packages couldn't upgrade the grid. I'm doing a clean reinstall, but I'm not sure if there is something special that needs to be done to update the grids as patches come in.
We have our 3 of our environments sharing a CFT server, they all have different grids. The install was tricky to ensure that each grid and folders pointed to the correct environment - we enlisted an Infor consultant to help.
